Cority carbon accounting software
Cority describes sustainability reporting within its wider EHS platform, while this profile separates that claim from reporting obligations.
Factor-year check
Which factor year matches the activity period?
The reporting or filing year alone does not select the conversion-factor set: DESNZ’s rule follows the year in which the activity falls entirely or mostly.
Which factor set applies · by the activity-data year
A check of the factor-year rule only.
Nothing you enter leaves your browser.
A time-stamped factor library is useful only if the record also identifies the activity, geography, period and selected source set.

Cority sells environment, health and safety software, and its sustainability and ESG reporting sits inside that platform rather than beside it (cority.com).
This page sets what Cority says about its carbon and ESG reporting beside what SECR, ESOS, UK SRS and the FCA’s rules require.
We have not tested Cority and give it no rating.
Cority calls its platform “EHS+”: one system for employee health, safety, quality, environmental and sustainability work.
Its home page lists the modules — compliance and audits, sustainability reporting, occupational health, incident reporting, industrial hygiene, risk management, and analytics.
The plus sign, in Cority’s words, stands for an expanded scope beyond traditional EHS, and its own FAQ argues that most organisations should not run separate systems for EHS and sustainability.
For carbon, its sustainability reporting page describes Scope 1, 2 and 3 calculation from a database of more than one million emission factors, target tracking, and reports aligned with CDP, GRI, SASB, TCFD and CSRD.
Much of that sustainability capability came from Greenstone, which Cority says it acquired on 4 May 2023 and describes as a UK-headquartered company founded in 2006 (Cority’s Greenstone page).
Cority’s AI layer is Cortex AI; Cority’s own account of the 2026 Verdantix report describes an invoice-scanning agent that reads emissions data from utility bills.
These are Cority’s statements about its own product.

Cority writes for high-risk, high-compliance operations, and its home page lists aerospace and defence among the sectors it builds for.
Its customer quotations come from occupational health, industrial hygiene, transport safety and quality teams — the EHS side of the platform.
In its March 2026 release it puts its customer base at more than 1,500 complex organisations, a figure that is Cority’s own.
The same release says Cority models enterprise structures and operational assets, and offers methane management for flaring, venting and fugitive emissions in oil and gas.
For a UK reader the useful question is not the sector but the obligation: which of SECR, ESOS, UK SRS and the CSRD actually binds you, set out on carbon management software.
A company that only needs a directors’ report SECR section may not need an EHS platform at all; whether SECR applies is tested on SECR thresholds.

Cority says it gathers, calculates and tracks Scope 1–3 emissions using built-in emission factors, across operations and supply chains.
UK SRS S2 asks for absolute gross Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions measured under the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard, with Scope 2 on a location-based approach (¶29(a)).
All fifteen Scope 3 categories must be considered and the included ones disclosed, whatever the measurement method (¶¶B32–B33).
A large factor library raises a UK-specific question: which factor was applied to each UK activity line, and from which year’s set.
The UK Government’s conversion factors are republished each year, and Cority’s own phrase is “time-stamped emission factors”, so the record of which set fed which figure should exist.
The rules on the fifteen categories are set out on Scope 3 under UK SRS, and the standard itself on UK SRS S2.

Cority’s headline carbon claim is its factor library: more than one million time-stamped emission factors.
For UK reporting, the factor set that matters most is the government’s own, and DESNZ states the rule for which set to use: each year’s factors are for activity data that falls entirely or mostly within that year (2026 methodology paper ¶1.10).
That means the filing year and the publication year are both the wrong test.
A UK financial year from April to March straddles two sets, and the rule decides which one governs.
The 2026 set also changed how the UK electricity factor was calculated, so a 2025-to-2026 fall in purchased-electricity emissions is not one year of grid change alone.
The factor-year check above applies the DESNZ rule to your reporting period; a tool with time-stamped factors should be able to show the same answer line by line.
SECR does not prescribe a factor set in the Schedule, but DESNZ describes its conversion factors as relevant to the government’s environmental reporting guidelines, including SECR.

| Regime | What the rule requires | What Cority says | Ask to see |
|---|---|---|---|

| ESOS | Total energy over a 12-month reference period; the areas making up at least 95%; an intensity ratio for each of four organisational purposes (reg 25C) | ESOS is not named on the pages read; Cority describes environmental permitting, emissions and waste modules alongside sustainability | Energy tagged to transport, industrial process, buildings and “any other purpose”, with four ratios |
| UK SRS S2 | Gross Scope 1, 2 and 3 to the GHG Protocol; location-based Scope 2; all fifteen Scope 3 categories considered (¶29(a); ¶¶B30–B33) | Scope 1, 2 and 3 calculated “using a database of 1M+ emission factors and standardized methodologies” (sustainability reporting page) | The factor applied to each UK line, its source and year, and the Scope 3 inclusion record |
| FCA listing rules | Comply or explain against UK SRS; relief, location, assurance and transition-plan statements (PS26/19) | UK SRS and the FCA rules are not named on the pages read; ISSB is | The three-part explanation for an unmet UK SRS S2 requirement, exported from the system |

Searches ask whether Cority offers emissions management for corporate ESG compliance and regulatory reporting, how it handles ESG reports, and how it performs on environmental management.
The table answers in the same shape each time: the rule, Cority’s words, and the request that turns one into evidence about the other.
UK SRS is available for voluntary use by any UK entity (DBT guidance), and listed companies in scope of the FCA rules report against it on a comply-or-explain basis for accounting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2027.
Cority names ISSB, whose standards UK SRS adopts with amendments (IFRS navigator), so ask which of the UK amendments the output reflects.
ESOS is the regime most often missed in software demonstrations, and the Phase 4 test is on ESOS Phase 4 requirements.

The final FCA UK SRS rules do not impose a general requirement to obtain third-party assurance over these disclosures.
Listed companies in scope of the FCA rules state whether they obtained it and, if so, the provider, the disclosures covered and the standard used.
One outside view can be checked at its owner’s page: Verdantix’s 2026 Green Quadrant press release names Cority among eight Leaders in enterprise carbon management software, out of 21 vendors evaluated — Verdantix’s assessment, not ours.
Cority also appears in CDP’s partner directory; CDP’s own disclosure platform is where the responses go.
The test for assurance is the same for every tool: pick one reported figure and trace it, inside the system, to the invoice or meter reading behind it.
What assurance is and is not required for is on UK SRS assurance.

Cority’s strength, on its own account, is the operational data an EHS platform already holds — sites, assets, meters and permits.
That makes the ESOS and factor-year requests the most revealing ones to put to it: they test whether operational data becomes a statutory figure without leaving the system.
The builder beside this text lists them with their provisions; mark each as shown on your data, described only, or not yet asked.
The SECR limbs behind those requests are on SECR deadlines and the wider UK picture on UK ESG reporting requirements.
Everything above describes what Cority publishes about itself, set beside what the rules require.
