Vendor profile · IBM Envizi · described from IBM’s site
IBM describes Envizi as ESG data management and reporting software, while this profile identifies the evidence a buyer should request.
In its own words
IBM describes Envizi as ESG data management and reporting software, while this profile identifies the evidence a buyer should request.
Module 01 / 03
Read IBM's named modules and descriptions.
Module 02 / 03
Identify the company's reporting outputs.
Module 03 / 03
Ask IBM to demonstrate the relevant data and controls.
IBM Envizi is IBM’s ESG data management and reporting software, which IBM describes as “a proven compliance ready solution for ESG data” (ibm.com).
This page sets IBM’s description of the ESG suite, its carbon modules and its pricing model beside what SECR, UK SRS and the FCA’s rules require.
We have not tested Envizi and give it no rating.
IBM presents Envizi as a lens on sustainability performance: analytics, reporting and planning tools on one ESG dataset, with AI used, in its words, “where it matters”.
The product page groups the modules in two.
Emissions management covers Scope 1 and 2 accounting, AI-assisted Scope 3, an emissions API for other software vendors, emissions calculations in Excel, Scope 3 financed emissions, and supply-chain intelligence for Scope 3 categories 1 and 2.
ESG reporting covers reporting frameworks, building ratings and benchmarks, surveys, planning analytics, programme tracking, utility-bill and interval-meter analytics, and target setting.
Underneath, IBM describes automated ingestion from ERP, metering, utility and supplier sources, configurable data tags so one dataset serves several outputs, organisational roll-ups, and data health checks with full audit trails.
These are IBM’s statements about its own product.
| Item | As IBM Envizi describes it |

Audience
The appropriate configuration depends on the organisation's locations, records, users and reporting outputs.
Module 01 / 03
Define sites and organisational hierarchy.
Module 02 / 03
Define activity, supplier and KPI data.
Module 03 / 03
Define reports, workflows and review needs.
IBM writes Envizi for organisations handling large volumes of ESG data across many sites, systems and business units.
Its pricing page says as much: sustainability reporting “require[s] handling large data volumes”, and the price is based on the volume you manage.
Within that, IBM pitches the Essentials bundle at organisations at the beginning of their sustainability journey and Premium at enterprises with advanced strategies and large data volumes.
The customer stories on IBM’s pages include a property group, a water utility, an engineering services group and an electronics manufacturer.
For a UK company the first question is which regimes bind it, set out on carbon management software; the volume question comes after.

IBM's stated Scope 1–3 capabilities should be demonstrated through actual boundaries, factors and estimation records.

IBM describes a Scope 1 and 2 engine built on the GHG Protocol, and AI used to accelerate Scope 3 calculation.
UK SRS S2 asks for absolute gross Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions to the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard, with location-based Scope 2 as the required figure (¶29(a)).
Every one of the fifteen Scope 3 categories must be considered, and the included ones disclosed (¶¶B32–B33).
IBM’s supply-chain intelligence module is described for categories 1 and 2, purchased goods and capital goods, so ask how the other thirteen are handled.
For banks, insurers and asset managers, ¶29A lets category 15 be limited to financed emissions; IBM’s financed-emissions module sits there, and PCAF’s standard is now in its third edition for Part A (2025).
For UK figures, ask which DESNZ conversion factor set was applied to each line and why.
The category rules are explained on Scope 3 under UK SRS and the standard on UK SRS S2.
One dataset, several disclosures
A common dataset can support different frameworks without making their disclosure requirements interchangeable.
Define entity, period and activity fields.
Apply each reporting requirement separately.
Show the required output and its supporting records.
IBM’s central data claim is reuse: consistent tags applied at ingestion so one trusted dataset feeds calculations, dashboards and disclosures.
That works only where the regimes ask for the same thing in the same form, and on several items they do not.
UK SRS S2 requires location-based Scope 2 and permits a market-based figure (¶29(a)(v); ¶¶B30–B31); the revised ESRS E1 asks for both.
SECR’s emissions limbs are statutory wording rather than GHG Protocol scopes (Sch 7 ¶15(2)–(3); ¶20D), and SECR wants energy in kWh, which no emissions framework asks for in that form.
ESOS measures energy, not emissions, over a reference period that need not match the financial year.
The tool beside this text takes one data item at a time and shows how each regime asks for it, with the provision; a tagging scheme should be able to hold every variant at once.
One data item · four regimes

The UK regimes
IBM's named framework support should be tested against the actual UK reporting text and entity scope.
Module 01 / 03
Show the prescribed energy and emissions items.
Module 02 / 03
Show UK-specific disclosure and method requirements.
Module 03 / 03
Show the relevant statements and report location.
| Regime | What the rule requires | What IBM Envizi says | Ask to see |
|---|---|---|---|
| SECR | Energy in kWh, the statutory emissions limbs, one emissions intensity ratio, methodology and comparatives (Sch 7) | SECR is not named on the Envizi pages read; IBM describes compliance and management reporting templates | A UK directors’ report SECR section from the template library, limb by limb |
| UK SRS S2 | Gross Scopes 1–3 to the GHG Protocol; location-based Scope 2; the Scope 3 category record (¶29(a); ¶¶B30–B33) | Scope 1 and 2 from “a powerful emissions calculation engine built on the GHG Protocol”; AI-assisted Scope 3 (product page) | Location-based Scope 2 by default, with the factor and year behind every UK line |
| FCA listing rules | Comply or explain; relief, location, assurance and transition-plan statements (PS26/19) | UK SRS and the FCA rules are not named on the pages read | The three-part explanation for any unmet UK SRS S2 requirement |
| Financed emissions | Scope 3 category 15; UK SRS S2 ¶29A lets it be limited to financed emissions (PCAF) | A Scope 3 Financed Emissions module for investment portfolios | Which PCAF edition, and the data-quality score per asset class |
| CSRD / ESRS | FY2026 version statement; immaterial datapoints omitted (DR 2026/1563) | Framework questions “such as ESRS to support CSRD reporting, GRI, SASB, SFDR, UN SDGs and TCFD” (ESG reporting page) | Which ESRS version the question set follows for a 2026 financial year |
| CDP and the voluntary frameworks | The CDP questionnaire; GRI; the SASB Standards (CDP; IFRS) | GRI, SASB, TCFD and UN SDGs named in the ESG Reporting Frameworks module | One tagged dataset answering CDP and the UK disclosures without re-entry |
People search for the Envizi ESG suite, the Envizi sustainability or ESG report, Envizi’s CSRD support and IBM’s ESG software generally.
The table answers in one shape for each regime: the rule, IBM’s words, and the request that tests one against the other.
UK SRS is available for voluntary use by any UK entity (DBT guidance), and listed companies in scope of the FCA rules report against it on a comply-or-explain basis for accounting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2027.
The government’s SECR guidance sets out what a directors’ report must contain, and none of the frameworks IBM names covers it.
The wider question of which UK rules reach a company is on are sustainability reports mandatory in the UK.
Audit trail
An access feature does not establish the scope, standard or conclusion of an assurance engagement.
Show permissions and review access.
Show source, changes and approvals.
Identify the independently agreed assurance work.
IBM says every change in Envizi is logged with a full audit trail, that automated health checks monitor completeness, accuracy and timeliness, and that auditors can be given log-in access to the supporting data and documents.
The final FCA UK SRS rules do not impose a general requirement to obtain third-party assurance over these disclosures.
Listed companies in scope of the FCA rules state whether they obtained it and, if so, the provider, the disclosures covered and the standard used.
The practical test is a trace: one reported figure followed back, inside the system, to the bill or meter reading behind it.
One third-party view can be checked at its owner’s page: Verdantix’s 2026 Green Quadrant press release names IBM among eight Leaders in enterprise carbon management software, out of 21 vendors evaluated — Verdantix’s assessment, not ours.
If you file with CDP, its disclosure platform is where the response goes, and IBM names the frameworks CDP draws on.
Price
IBM's published pricing model uses Accounts to represent managed activity, supplier and KPI data.
Module 03 / 03
Confirm included modules, services and contract terms.
IBM publishes how Envizi is priced, but not the prices.
Its pricing page says the calculator estimates how many Accounts you need — units that track activity data, supplier data and KPIs — from your industry and number of locations.
The estimate places you in one of three bundles: Essentials, up to 1,000 Accounts; Standard, 1,001 to 5,000; and Premium, 5,001 to 15,000 and above.
Functionality — ESG reporting, Scope 1, 2 and 3 calculation, supply-chain emissions — is then added to the bundle, and IBM says exact requirements are scoped during the sales process.
This site records the price as Enterprise level · TBD.
Before a quote, give IBM a sample of your activity streams, supplier records and reporting locations, and ask it to confirm how those map to billable Accounts and the functionality in the proposed package.

Frequently asked
IBM’s pricing page defines Accounts as units tracking activity data, supplier data and performance KPIs, with requirements scoped during sales.
The published bundle count should not be read as a user-seat count or as a guarantee that one file, meter or supplier always equals one Account.

IBM Envizi is IBM’s ESG data management and reporting software.
IBM describes it as a compliance-ready solution for ESG data that combines analytics, reporting and planning tools, with emissions calculation for Scopes 1, 2 and 3 and modules for ESG reporting frameworks, buildings, utility bills and targets.
ESG Suite is the name IBM uses on its pricing page for the Envizi product set.
It is priced by data volume in Account bundles, with modules such as ESG reporting and Scope 1, 2 and 3 calculation added on top.
IBM’s ESG Reporting module gives access to framework questions in one place — IBM names ESRS for CSRD, GRI, SASB, SFDR, the UN SDGs and TCFD — plus compliance and management reporting templates and a portal for value-chain stakeholders to submit data.
The report is produced by the customer from their own data.
Yes, in part: IBM lists Scope 1 and 2 accounting on the GHG Protocol, AI-assisted Scope 3, an emissions API, emissions calculation in Excel, financed emissions and supply-chain intelligence for Scope 3 categories 1 and 2. It sits inside a wider ESG data platform.

Its calculator estimates the number of Accounts you need — units that track activity data, supplier data and KPIs — and places you in Essentials (up to 1,000 Accounts), Standard (1,001 to 5,000) or Premium (5,001 to 15,000 and above), with functionality added on top. This site records the price as Enterprise level · TBD.
IBM says its ESG Reporting module supports CSRD reporting through ESRS framework questions.
For a financial year starting in 2026 the CSRD lets an undertaking choose between versions of the ESRS and requires it to state which, so ask which version the question set follows.
Neither is named on the Envizi pages read.
Both are statements a UK company makes from its own data — SECR in the directors’ report, UK SRS voluntarily or, for listed companies from 2027, on a comply-or-explain basis — so ask to see each produced from your data.
Verdantix’s own press release for its 2026 Green Quadrant on enterprise carbon management software names IBM among eight Leaders out of 21 vendors evaluated. That is Verdantix’s assessment, not this site’s.
