SINAI carbon accounting software
SINAI Technologies sells enterprise carbon management software whose distinguishing claim is that it models the money as well as the emissions: marginal abatement cost curves, scenario planning and carbon-price sensitivity sit beside the inventory (sinai.com).
That makes one UK disclosure unusually relevant: the internal carbon price, at UK SRS S2 ¶29(f).
We have not tested SINAI and give it no rating.

Read the detailed guidance and evidence
SINAI describes enterprise carbon management “from audit-grade measurement to profitable decarbonization”, deployed as one platform or as modules inside systems a company already runs.
On sinai.com it organises the product in four parts: Measure (Scope 1–3 accounting, automated data capture, more than 100,000 emission factors, facility-level hotspots); Engage (supplier data, including AI-matched supplier-specific emissions for more than 4 million companies); Report (framework templates, AI-assisted drafting, full data lineage); and Reduce (scenario modelling and marginal abatement cost curves).
On sinaitechnologies.com the same company names three modules: carbon accounting and reporting, a climate transition planner and a climate financial planner that models the costs of mitigation projects.
Its Reduce page describes evaluating projects on abatement alongside CAPEX, OPEX and NPV, and testing them under different carbon-price assumptions.
These are SINAI’s statements about its own product.

SINAI writes for global, multi-site enterprises, and its customer stories come from steel, food and logistics companies with many assets and many reduction projects.
Its pitch is to sustainability and finance teams together: reduction projects compared on cost as well as tonnes, so that a board can see the economics.
That is a different job from producing a SECR section or a UK SRS S2 metric, and a buyer should decide which job is the purchase.
A company whose need is the disclosure alone will find the requirements on UK SRS S2; one planning reductions will find the transition-plan rules on transition plans under UK SRS.

SINAI says it provides granular, audit-grade Scope 1–3 accounting from equipment level upwards, with facility-level insight into hotspots.
The UK SRS S2 tests are the same for every tool: gross emissions under the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard, location-based Scope 2, and all fifteen Scope 3 categories considered with the included ones disclosed (¶29(a); ¶¶B30–B33).
SINAI’s supplier-matching claim — supplier-specific emissions for more than 4 million companies — bears on Scope 3 category 1, purchased goods and services.
Ask how a matched supplier figure is distinguished from a figure the supplier provided, because the method behind each category is part of what UK SRS S2 asks an entity to disclose.
SINAI also names target tracking against the Science Based Targets initiative; SBTi’s own standards and guidance say targets set in 2026 use Corporate Net-Zero Standard Version 1.3.1, with Version 2.0 validation from early 2027 (SBTi).

Draft the ¶29(f) disclosure · internal carbon prices
The entity applies an internal carbon price as a shadow price, a theoretical cost used to inform decisions in investment decisions and scenario analysis. It uses a price of £[price] per metric tonne of CO2 equivalent to assess the costs of its greenhouse gas emissions.UK SRS S2 ¶29(f)(i)–(ii) · IFRS S2 ¶29(f)
Illustrative drafting only — the £ figure is yours, not a recommended price.
Nothing you enter leaves your browser.
A fictional two-price decision record
A company may use different internal prices for different decisions; the disclosure should explain whether and how the prices were used rather than presenting one unexplained number.
| Invented decision | Invented price | What the record explains |
|---|---|---|
| Equipment investment considered on 1 September 2026 | £60 per metric tonne CO₂e | A shadow-price sensitivity used when comparing options; identify its actual role in the decision. |
| Longer-term scenario assessment on 15 September 2026 | £90 per metric tonne CO₂e | A different purpose and time horizon; retain the assumption and decision record. |
Both prices and dates are invented examples, not market benchmarks, required prices or tested SINAI output; a company using no internal carbon price answers the whether-and-how question accordingly.
Read the detailed guidance and evidence
Searches for SINAI’s internal carbon pricing module are, underneath, searches about a disclosure rule.
UK SRS S2 ¶29(f) requires an entity to disclose “an explanation of whether and how the entity is applying a carbon price in decision-making (for example, investment decisions, transfer pricing and scenario analysis)”, and “the price for each metric tonne of greenhouse gas emissions the entity uses to assess the costs of its greenhouse gas emissions”.
The wording is the same in IFRS S2 ¶29(f).
Because the first limb asks “whether and how”, a company that applies no internal carbon price still has something to disclose.
The standard’s definitions name two common types: a shadow price, a theoretical cost used to inform decisions, and an internal fee or tax charged to business activities.
A planning tool that tests projects under several carbon prices helps with the first limb only if it records which price was actually used in which decision.
The builder beside this text drafts both limbs from your answers; the figure you enter is yours, and nothing here suggests a price.
The disclosure sits in the metrics and targets pillar, which is set out on IFRS S2.

UK SRS is available for voluntary use by any entity (DBT guidance), and listed companies in scope of the FCA rules report against it on a comply-or-explain basis from 2027.
SINAI names CBAM; the UK’s own CBAM, set by Part 5 of the Finance Act 2026, commences on 1 January 2027 and is a separate regime from the EU’s.
SINAI also names CDP.

SINAI describes full data lineage, audit trails and an evidence trail behind every number.
Its site also makes claims about third-party verification and analyst recognition; this page does not repeat them, because a vendor’s claim about a third party is best checked at that third party’s own page.
The FCA’s UK SRS listing rules do not themselves require third-party assurance; listed companies in scope state whether they obtained it, from whom and to which standard.
For the ¶29(f) disclosure specifically, the evidence an assurer would look for is the decision record: which investment or transfer-pricing decisions used a carbon price, and at what level.

Searches for SINAI’s pricing often ask for an annual contract value; no such figure is published by SINAI, and we do not estimate one.
Because SINAI sells modules separately as well as together, a quote can be scoped to accounting only, planning only, or both.

Frequently asked
Questions people ask
What is SINAI Technologies?
SINAI describes itself as enterprise carbon management software that joins Scope 1–3 accounting to decarbonisation planning.
Its site, read on 1 October 2026, describes four parts — Measure, Engage, Report and Reduce — and financial modelling of reduction projects alongside their emissions effect.
Does SINAI have an internal carbon pricing module?
SINAI’s pages describe carbon pricing used to test project economics under different price assumptions, showing how a price changes NPV, marginal abatement cost and capital allocation.
Its site also has a page on internal carbon pricing.
Under UK SRS S2 ¶29(f), an entity discloses whether and how it applies a carbon price in decision-making and the price per tonne it uses; the builder on this page drafts that disclosure.
What are marginal abatement cost curves in SINAI?
SINAI describes dynamic marginal abatement cost (MAC) curves that rank reduction projects by cost per tonne abated, with scenario modelling and forecasts against SBTi or net-zero targets.
A MAC curve is a planning tool; no UK disclosure standard requires one, though UK SRS S2 asks about transition plans, targets and capital deployment.
How much does SINAI cost?
SINAI publishes no price on either of its websites; its pages invite you to talk to the company. This site records that as Enterprise level · TBD.
Annual contract values quoted elsewhere are not SINAI’s own published figures.
Does SINAI support SECR in the UK?
SECR is not named on the SINAI pages read.
Ask to see a Schedule 7 section for a UK entity: the kWh total, each statutory emissions limb, an intensity ratio, the methodology statement and comparatives.
Does SINAI cover Scope 1, 2 and 3?
SINAI says it provides audit-grade Scope 1–3 accounting with more than 100,000 emission factors and supplier-specific emissions for over 4 million companies.
UK SRS S2 requires location-based Scope 2 and a record of which Scope 3 categories are included.
Why does SINAI have two websites?
The company operates sinaitechnologies.com and sinai.com, both titled as its enterprise carbon management and sustainability platform.
They describe the same company’s products in different ways; this profile cites each for what it says.
Has this site tested SINAI?
No. This page describes what SINAI publishes about itself and sets it beside what the rules require. It gives no rating.
